Greetings,

On the 25th of May 2008, members of Okader reenacted several of Turkish Archery diciplines to an audience of locals from the Kagithane district in Istanbul. The show was part of the "Sadabat Summer Festivities". Below you will find the video we have crafted out of the footage taken that day. Thanks go out to Fuat ?zveri, who helped in the editing process.

temren, thank you for that.

Some notes:
the disc shooting afoot seems a bit risky, I worry about the tosser being in front of the shooters, especially as he seems not too far off to the side.
mounted archey: impressive. I'm pretty sure that the first two times, the archer wasn't drawing the bow all the way, later he was.
I think he stayed seated in the saddle while shooting, no rising. Am I mistaken?

Hi MJuingong,

The tossers, as you call them, were actually on a safe angle, the view of the video may disorient you. Also, only the ones who had experience with moving targets took part on that show, meaning we knew when to shoot.
And yes, Sami Genel, the elderly gentleman in the first two shots is a bit of a snapshooter.
