According to statistics from a website called Alexa, usage of ATARN.ORG is -

That's really interesting, given that the majority of material is not in Chinese. Imagine what would happen if all the content were available in Chinese.
ATARN.NET has been closed to 'spiders' and statistics collection agencies, so that nothing on ATARN.NET will be found by internet search engines like Google. In a way, that's a pity because there's a lot of valuable data in here and having ATARN.NET appear on search engines would draw a lot of people.
However, ATARN.NET contents change hourly and I found that opening up access to spidering slowed down ATARN.NET performance a lot.
I have received a few offers of revenue for ATARN from allowing advertising. I need to think about that because it is costing me US$140 per quarter to run each site.

That is interesting. What are the remaining percentages?
I am not really in a position to comment on monies, but if you need to balance the books allowing advertising would be a good way of doing it. I don't think it would damage the intellectual nature of the site. I would rather see a few ads here and there than lose ATARN entirely.

Why don't you get more, if not all content translated into Chinese? I don't think the mainland Chinese are as cultureless as some other Atarn member stated. I am sure they are yearning for historical things and traditional archery. How much can it cost to get all content up in Chinese ? Maybe a member could help?

Thanks for supportive messages. I am working an a plan to let a Chinese friend of mine to translate English materials from ATARN into Chinese for his own website with the condition that we can also post them back here.
If I can find funding, I would also like to get materials that have been posted on ATARNet re-written as articles and posted up on ATARN. But that means employing somone good, which will be expensive.

Rewritten as in "edited to a more readable and grammatically consistent standard?" There may be members of this forum who might be willing to handle some of the shorter pieces for free... *hint, hint*
since the bow and archery show more in tv and newspaper and internet, the people interest archery increase days by days in china ,form the 5 years our first chinese form build, i see lots of member give up make a bow, a few made a bow become a bowyer without enough experience and enough test and enough quality,if they are not sell bow how does they can buy enough material that they can know what kind of same material is good or bad or it can use for a bow and what method is good,i am sure the bowyer will hold this secret, the hope of many good bowyer need chinese become enough time and money, not now, but if member has a bow buy or made they can keep the exercise for long time, so a good way, it will a big market at future. they are need bows, you can sell bows for pay the cost of your plan , the important ， traditional archery and equipment, your material just as a bait for hook lots of new member,the enough replacement resource so a forum more super-vital , the base of reborn traditional archery, i am sure your will pay lots losing of copyright, it decide what you want,it seem you has done enough analyse not only statistics Alexa
