extream hand shock
This weekend i had the opportunity to try one so called Fiberglas horse bow of an Hungarian style (i think) it is about 45 @ 28 with a physical weight of at least 1,3 kg and my hand didn't stop vibrating until i came home and scared it away with a glass of whiskey.
If people compare those kind of bows with a real horn bow i can understand get the wrong picture. it was an unpleasing experience. [/i]

1.3 kg sounds like a very heavy bow. All of my fiberglass bows are comparable to a longbow in mass. Do you know who the bowyer was?
There is a lot of crap bows around. Especially those found in different "Middle ages markets" in various countries, such as Sweden. I have no idea why some people put such heavy materials in those bows, it's not like it makes it cheaper to build that way so it's just some weird idea those people have. As an example: For a while I had a cheap-a** bow of 43 lbs. That one and my mongolian from Gr?zer, of 45 lbs, I put through a chrono.
Arrow weighed roughly 555 grains (if I translate 36 grams to grains correctly, at least), three arrows used for each bow. With the cheap-a** I got it to average 131 fps, with Gr?zers to 162.
In short: A crap bow is a crap bow and should be avoided. And as you know, Puzio (yes, I know who you are from a certain swedish forum, so I really know that you do), the safest sign that a bow is crap is if everything on them look the same except the shape of the ears but the seller insist that they are all replicas of traditional hungarian/mongolian/crimean/turkish/whatever bows.
Just had to vent.
Feel much better now.
