Hello
Not sure how maybe other bend wood, though best I find work well is boil.
I success in bending wood up to 15mm X 30mm using this way.
One important thing, I make sure I have single ring on back of bend so not splintering.
Boil time, shortest time I do is 30 minute, longest maybe close to two hour, it depend wood thickness.....

I tried some mullbery tips .When the thickness is only 1CM,the work can be easily done. You can bend 2-3 pieces with the same frame, and then glue them tegather.
I bend it with hot water in this way:1.Long wood is easier to bend,so leave the wood a little longer than i need.2. keep the wood in cold water for 2-3 days.3.it is really hard to bend 2 tips that matches.I bent twice wide wood ,and cut it into two halves.4.the bent wood should be keet for 4-5days till it dries,or it may lose too much curve.
By the way,it is not a must to bend wood for tips.last year ,I just cut a C-shaped(Diameter 5-10CM ) branch into two.both piece have the same curve.you will find it best if you can find some branches with curve.
