My first choice was to find branches with curves in them,the mulberry tree in my back yard does not have anything suitable so i bought some from a hardwood store and it cracked when i tried to bend it,I will try your advice .

There is at least one book specifically on bending wood currently in print. Aside from bows, many furniture pieces used bent wood. If you look up the process on Google, you can find many references. There are many straightforward techniques.[/list]
