My latest work. Two slightly long Comanche style bows of Osage with sinew strings, 48". One draws 40# at 20" the other 50# at about the same. One string notch each end only. Draw back farther for more power.

The arrows are barreled with expanded nocks from Rough leaf dogwood. Flowering dogwood has four branches at one place while roughleaf has only two. The feathers are hybrid turkey which I have been hoarding. Sinew lashed. Ground paintrock and hide glue for paint.

The points are also authentic, copies of one from a battlefield- Adobe walls area.

Both are good shooters; will easily out perform longbows of the similar draw weight. This makes longbow types skeptical and disappointed. -j-

I don't know much about native American bows, but I can tell you made great reproductions. I'm surprised by the look of the arrows, i didn't know that American arrows were made with that kind of nocks. Great looking turkey feathers, really close to an eagle pattern!

So the First Nations have finally invaded Asia.

Well it is a bit off topic but Asia did invade America. Peoples have been arriving here from Asia since the ice age. The bow and arrow definitely were introduced from Asia. The influence on archery is hard to see but there is definitely evidence.

What I want to know is what took you guys so long to get here?-j-

We Asians are ready to walk into the Central Plains. Thanks for the invite. (Just don't tell the National Guard). 8)
