Cross sections; korean hb
I cut up my broken korean hb. I took pictures of all the cross sections.
They start in the center of the handle and go in 1" intervals, except at the nock and the string bridge.
Also, I took pictures of both sides of some of them.
There appears to be a crack in the bamboo core. I will try and write a full review of all the pictures and also I will post it on ATARNet.

SW,
Although I think the bow you got is a good guide, don't completely rely on the cross-sections for accuracy. As that particular bow broke at a very young age, and David had serious misgivings about that bowyer, I'm not sure it can be relied upon. It's really too bad about our local bowyer, as he truly was a master with excellent quality horn bows; his bows could be trusted.

Yes, I am not going to follow it very closely. I just wanted a good guide, that I could feel and see.
There also appears to be a crack in the bamboo core a few inches before the splice. I am wondering now if it was there before or after the bow was finished. Does David know if the core cracked on him?
It also doesn't look like that crack is the cut made at the base of the V splice. It seems to stop before the splice. So there is another mistake that bowyer made, with no cut made in the base of the siyah.
Nevermind, this 'crack' actually does seem to be that cut near the base of the siyah. disregard statement above.
