I have all the raw materials needed to make a couple of bows and I would like to make a crabbow.Does anyone have the measurements of one?I would really appericiate it if someone could post the dimensions of one.
Thanks
Bede
I can measure one of my bows. However, after seeing the cross section of one at Jaap Koppedrayer's house I am not certain that they were all made the same way. Early published cross-sections show a lot of wood in the goshas (siyahs), but the one I saw cut open was at least 50% sinew there.

Bede (and any other people with bows to measure):

It might be worth making a sticky in this forum with all the measurements and any pictures so there's a useful reference for everyone.

Bede I really appericiate it and am looking forward to trying to make a mughal bow. What type of wood do you think was used for the core?I remember watching a show on the Mughals in which Lukas Novotney says that mangowood was used.I also know that maple was awailable in Kashmir as well as willow, mulberry and there is plenty of bamboo available in India.
