Horn too thin

I could kick myself right now, while preparing horn strips for my bow I accidentaly thinned it a little too much, somewhere between 2.5-3 mm,could this strip still be used or do I make a new one?

Some crab bows had horn this thin.

the crab bows are said to have more sinew than the bows from other cultures,I should put a thicker layer of sinew than norn then.,
Bede
The one I saw dissected had sinew on the belly as well. There was longitudinal sinew on the back and the belly. It was particularly thick on the belly where the angle between the ear and the bending part of the limb was. I found this surprising. The wood was thin too.

Do you have an idea why this was done? I can't imagine why sinew would be needed on the belly, except for wraps maybe.
Bede
To be honest, I have no idea. My current theory is that the sinew was used purely to make the bow look like a crab bow with a cross section made up with more wood. The bow section I saw looks much easier and cheaper to make than one with more wood and horn in the construction. I believe it would not have performed as well as one with a more usual cross section.

I mentioned it to point out that people made bows with less than optimum materials. sinew-wood-horn construction is very forgiving. However, I think that doing things like this produces an inferior sluggish bow because of the heavy sinew in the belly-side of the siyahs.
