I have a nice example of one of these bows. It comes from near Hyderabad in India and the steel work is known as 'Bidri'. The strings are interesting: made of silk inter-woven with liver thread.

Stephwn; How do you know where your bow is from? What is liver thread?

I do not believe that Damascus steel is the correct material of which these original bows were made.

Stephen, youre bow sounds very interesting, could we see a pic? I'm interested in Indian bows. Have you shot it? how does it shoot?? or does anyone else have experience how steel bows perform?
