Turkey's first International Horseback Archery Competition was held in Sivas, Turkey. Over 20 competitors from 7 different countries have participated to this event. Below is the some pictures:

Mameluk style (like Korean but includes one wrong side shot) and Qabaq game has performed by competitors.

I'll try to send more information about that event.

We hope, we'll make that event with more competitors from more countries in the next year.

Great news! Congratulations to all participants and best wishes to repeat next years! Your pictures are excellent and especially impressive the music of your page; such a wonderful sound and I don't know its composer and title...

On behalf of the "Hellenic Horseback Archery Society" I would like to send the cordial wishes of our Members for the success of your future events and our will to know deeper the rules of your games. So, if you please, post these rules in a near opportunity.

Kind regards!

Hi guys,

one late reply from me; the competition was brilliant. The horses were very fast. We had many international guests from different cultures.
Kabak shooting was very interesting, unfortunately I dont have much videos.
This is me shooting kabak (and hitting):

However the shooter with the best form was Mrs Fatima from Germany:

You should bend your upper body in order to be in the 'T'-position with your arms and shoulders towards the target.
The target was on the left, it could have been on the right to make it exactly like in the miniature of Sultan Murad II from the Hunername.

Cirit was played too. First the Sivas cirit team played against a team from another cıty, then our guests had the chance to join the game. There were very funny (sometimes dangerous) moments :)

It was an important step for Turkish horsearchery. I feel we are a bit under pressure as the descendants of a great horsearchery culture. I hope we brought fresh wind into the scene and we will continue practicing and researching.

Most importantly I hope it will bring the sport forward in Turkey. Media coverage wasnt too bad so I hope people will take it more serious and start supporting it (and sponsor it..)

In the meantime we would be delighted to exchange experience and tell you more about Turkish horsearchery.

Cheers

Welcome Gokmen. I enjoy your videos, specially the ones on strength testing and flight shooting. I think you have a bright future on flight shooting.
