Tonkin bamboo supply in South Africa?
Happy New Year everybody!
I am looking for Tonkin canes and Pseudosasa japonica (rhizomes or bulbs) here in South Africa. Arrow bamboo will grow nicely in my subtropical garden, I just don't have the patience to wait 4-6 years for a Tonkin harvest ;)
3Rivers Archery has some pre-planed and heat-treated bamboo strips but they are not what I'm looking for.
Does anyone have contacts/ideas where to get? Customs still owe me a response if I can import alien plant species for "commercial" use, as long as I keep it from spreading.
Any input appreciated!
