World traditional Archery Festival 2010
I would encourage anyone interested in traditional archery to try to go. If you ever wanted wanted to
shoot with Mongolians, with Bhutanese, Tibetans, Japanese and others from around Europe and the world, this is the event for you. For little more than the price of your air fare, the Koreans will put you up in a sports facility, feed you three times a day, and make you the recipient of their excellent hospitality. There is practice, demonstrations, competition, an academic seminar about archery from all areas and ages, plus an outing which will be well chosen.
A really smart person will stay over in Seoul for days or a week for a trip of a lifetime. There are more than a hundred museums, galleries plus palaces, historic sites; too many to see in a month.
As far as the USA; why can we not find some hotshot shooters to put us on the map? If you are a marksman why not make us proud and go to Korea and show them who we are? Japan won last year. Wouldn't you like to fix that?
I highly recommend the trip for anyone interested, sharpshooter or not you will be welcome.

2. Official registration ? in July
3. Tentative Dates and Venue
Dates : October 8 ? 13(5 nights and 6 days)
Venue : Jangseong, Jollanamdo Province, Republic of Korea

How have you been? These days the Korean people have been experiencing a difficult time due to the sinking of a warship, which caused the 40 casualties of the Korean navy. God bless them and be peace with their remaining families.
And, Korea will get the local government election in June 2 of this year, and elect the new governors, the new mayors, the new province representatives, the new city/county representatives, and the new heads of province offices of education. It's a very upcoming event.
The local government election has made a delay for us to discuss the issue to determine the venue and the period of WTAF 2010. We expect that only after the election, such things will be decided. Thus, it will be around June or July for WTAFOC to notify where and when we hold WTAF 2010. Nevertheless, there will be no problem with it.
Up to now, many traditional archers from a lot of countries have shown great interests in participating in WTAF 2010. This year, we have planned to invite 35 countries. Actually new countries like Uruguay have decided to come to WTAF 2010. Also, this year, there will be not only individual but also international competitions in WTAF 2010. For the international competitions, only the countries having at least 4 archers can participate. As we did in the previous individual competitions, the countries competing in the international competitions will be ranked based on their scores. The winning country will take a great honor and the highest medals. If you would like to be interested in participating in the international competitions, please make a team of at leat 4 archers including you.

Uli; Maybe someone else knows of an official site for the publication of the proceedings of the seminar. I do not. Some items from 2008 were published on the Turkish site. I feel sure that the Koreans would appreciate the information being spread about. There have been some great presentations. -j-

About 35 countries and 200 participants will participate in WTAF 2010, and venue will be decided until June.
After decided the exact venue, we will notice everyone.
Also give all information and flight with arriving time to join festival.
Program of WTAF, picture of accommodations and venue will be sent too.
We will give information to all participants to avoid problems.
People who participate in the 4th WTAF must arrive to Korea until OCT 8th, 10am.
If you arrive the day before OCT 7th, WTAFOC will provide the accommodation and meal.

Daejeon is most scientific metropolitan city in korea, and 5 archery clubs in there, and I live in this city.
