I've taken some artistic licence with this one. Hickory core with cocobolo ears and handle laminates. Circa 40lb. 46''

Very nice!!!!
Artistic license...ok, but why you make heavy reflex tip and dont use him ???. Now you have + weight in tip for nothing . Believe i try be pozitive -much !
Congrats!!!
nice finish and classy look, but for the size i would expect more pounds, how is that possible?
I have to agree with Mr Dusan, why not using the reflex?
and another question, any shock at the grip? I really like the outline and might try to replicate,

Thanks for the respose.
You are both right. The design can be improved. I am learning all the time.
This is no. only 3 composite I've made.
I didn't introduce any reflex other than the natural shrinkage of the sinew. I'm carefully learning the art step by step so was hesitant not to add too much reflex in case I couldn't balance the bow (I believe it's harder to balance with the reflex handle design, so i was intentially conservative on this one). The area above the nocks is very thin (not shown in pictures very well) so is low mass. But you're right. The nocks should have been positioned further up the ears.
I have two more curing of similar design which I forced into more of a 'U' shape, and will make more efficient use of the recurved ears.
The draw weight is low, but I shoot target field archery. Anything over 50lb I cannot hit the target consistently.
Best regard,
Dylan

what have u used for the wrapping (vanilla color thread in the pics)?
Waxed cotton cord. I have tried waxed hemp before on a previous model but it frayed too quickly.
Thanks Dylan
