Hi,

rather than using rope, is it possible to use zap straps for this lamination?

Some of us are not familiar with the term. What are they like?

If so - I doubt very much that you can get it tight enough.
When you use the rope method, with the tool, you can hardly move the loops sideways, no matter how hard you try. Besides you would need a wrap for every half inch or less. It would take much longer time and be more difficult. I think when we make old type bows, we do good to learn the old bowyers tricks..... Later we may improve on them. Or not...

Another problem with cable ties is the hardness of the material combined with the narrowness of the ties. The pressure is somewhat evened out with the rope method.

Forget this "Zap" . Never compete rope, evan clamps...

I was thinking of:
1. Attach cable ties.
2. When horn in place use ope.

... Then i was thinking about the hurry with natural glue and decided this is not a good idea.

I would say:
If you use slow epoxy ( Drawbacks of epoxy documented elsewhere ) then this is feasible, otherwise no.
