Traditional Buthanese bowstrings
Is any one able to provide some information on the traditional bowstring used with the Buthanese bamboo bow?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm researching the matter of processing stinging nettles (Utrica sp.) for fibers at present and I've heard/read the traditional Buthanese bowstring is made of nettle fibers.
I imagine they are made of pure fibers twisted in one direction and some kind of glue or a glue containing mixture is involved, the bowstrings seem to be rather thin.
