chinese archery wikipedia article

Hi folks,

I've been in the process of revamping the English Wikipedia article on Chinese Archery: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_archery . It used to be a stub, and I have since expanded it to include basic discussions about use, technique and bows (as well as a small section about legends). You are welcome to add to it.

But I am particularly interested in adding a more representative set of pictures to the article. Specifically, I am looking for images of archery in Chinese paintings from different eras, sculptures and other art; images of different types of bows; as well as other relevant images.

The big caveat is that the images we post should comply with the CCA-SA license: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia: ... ed_License . In particular, we not only have to obtain permission to post the image on Wikipedia, but also permission to let others share and redistribute the posted image without restriction. Wikipedia has a strict policy against posting copyrighted images without permission, and we cannot simply lift images posted to this forum.

If you'd like me to make changes or post images on your behalf, or if you have suggestions on where I can find a repository of relevant public domain images, please let me know.

I can let you have some images that are beyond US copyright protection (i.e. it is now more than 70 years since the photographer died.)

Please let me know to image specs you require (size/pixel density)

Justin,

You've really done an excellent job there. So many thanks!

Justin,
Great Job!!!! Very nicely condensed.

Thanks. It's easy to summarize when the source material is excellent.

Yes, those images would be very useful. I don't think they need to be bigger than 600 pixels in any dimension (unless you think a larger picture would benefit people). If there's information about the original source and author/photographer for each photo, that would be excellent.
