han period and other crossbows..

hello, I have been lurking here for a while, I'm in the planning stages of building a chinese period type crossbow, I have made several medevil uropean crossbows in the past,but was intrigued by the chinese lock mechanism for years(twenty years ago I made wooden copies of them to understand the function)last year seeing some in person while touring china and tibet has repeaked my interest(plus I have more tools know)have looked at the work done by members here, has any more recent work taken place? have been using the info available to work up some drawings, planning on a bow for target use,ornately carved stock(I like to carve) composite bow(my other bows are steel) and I would like to explore this method.. thanks for any help ..
