I found this german source of horn, normal ones as well as African watussi cattle horn which is more than 70cm long. He normaly does not sell to bowyers so you'll have to explain to him for what you'll need the horn.
May be useful to build Magyar and Tatar bows..
I don't know about his english......

in the china also has horn like the url you has posted, it often is a cow head the big horn on it (it cost 1200rmb  ), in some book's picture in china qinghai province and tibet province a lot horn( a small HILL) on the grassland

recently,a member of my forum in guangxi province said the water buffalo is garbage throw away, but has no long horn, i am guess it has good quality that the horn surface is smoothing

how much is 1200rmb? Is it a lot for horn in China? How much costs Buffalo horn in China?(in US$) I will try this cow horn from Mr. Nielsen. He brings it from East Africa. Sometimes a Watussi single horn can measure more than one meter in lenght or more than that. It is the cow with the biggest horns in the world.
Tatar,Cuman and Hungarians used longhorn cattle horn for their bows, so why not give it a try, tropical or not tropical......we'll see if its durable and resilent or not.

Greetings & Salaam

hi,I?ve experienced with watussi-horns and I?ll will never use it anymore. It is twisted,it splinters very easy when working on it and it has not all the qualities of waterbuffalo-horn.

Bow made from 1 watussi steer horn. The style is somewhere between Hunza (Afghanistan tribe) and Chinese. This is the bow with the broken core repaired with 2 horn patches (the large black lashings). The repair is so secure that I decided to Birch bark the bow. The three horn slats are exposed, horn bridge, horn tips. Strange but pretty. -j-

A very interesting bow design. Have you got material on original Hunza valley
bows? I am very interested in Mughal bow design and Persian designs.
But I have no material on any of the Afghan designs (there must be many since there are so many races & tribal groups there).

Alam; Jaap K. had a Hunza bow at one of the IHAF meetings which he allowed me to examine-touch. Another exists in the Grayson Collection which he allowed me to examine and photograph. A friend has taken pictures of a third in the Science museum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Tashkent item includes arrows, quiver, armor and helmet and shield.

The bows were all long, rather straight, black, of minimal workmanship. The horn is in 2 and 3 long strips along the belly; the sinewing is crude. Multiple sinew lashings hold everything together. Siyahs are long, Chinesey. Probably, the pictures will not want to be posted here. -j-

Alam; Let me quickly add that I believe that there was a small article about Hunza bows in the Journal of the Society of Archer Antiquaries, JSAA, and something in Eggerton, Indian and Oriental Arms and Armour. -j-
