How bowyers in Turkey find them ?
Merhaba Fellow Turkish bowyers,
We have a workshop in Tekirdag. My brother and cousin will start to practice making Turkish Bow as soon as they find material.
I know sturgeon bladder is not sold in Turkey. Water Buffalo horns are either small or thinner than Asian ones. Cattle sinew from breeds that not domestic is fatty and not ideal and trying to find buffalo (manda ) or Ox sinew in butchers is useless.
We only found some maple but its not clear what kind of maple it is and if really air dried.
How do you guys overcome these obstacles to follow the genuine recipes for making a Turkish Bow? Where do you find them ?
I will appreciate if you think any information is worth of sharing.
