I want to go within the next several years-as a competitor. Only when I am confident to make a worthy fight will I risk going. I will have to study much under Lukas.
I was just about to check this out when I realised that it's my blog!jack farrell wrote:

I would enjoy if you or one of the participants would give a more in depth review of the competition. How did it go, who did what, surprises?, was there an overall winner?
I do plan to. I'm still on holiday at the moment but will be home in a day or two. I'll give you a brief summary though.
There were two days of elimination/heats. At the end of those two days the clear leader was Mihai Cozmei. Lukas Novotny's was in second and Kassai Lajos in third. Lukas had to fly home before the finals so general opinion was that it was a a two horse race between Mihai and Lajos, with most people backing Mihai, who had been very impressive. He was riding fast and shooting fast and accurately. Lajos was riding slowly and shooting quickly and accurately.
Points earned so far were wiped for the final, which consisted of a half competition of each style, with the top 16 riders competing (but only 2 per country, meaning that Marton Szmreczany finished 7th in qualifying but didn't make the final).
In the event, Mihai shot badly on the last day, finishing 6th. Lajos shot brilliantly and won. Second place was Hsam Feath from Jordan, third Matyas Ruszak of Hungary (less than one point between them, about which I shall have more to say when I write my full review). Daniel Griffin of RSA was 4pts behind Matyas and Norbert Spiess of Germany a further 6 behind him. After that there was quite a drop to Mihai in 6th and then the rest of the field.
Although the final was decided by wiping the slate from qualifying, by my maths Kassai would have won narrowly (by a point or two) cumulatively as well.
I'll write something fuller soon.

That's odd, the iPad has resurrected my old account from years ago rather than the one I now use. Chaka Zulu is my old university nickname. Dan and Chaka Zulu are the same person...
Dan Chaka Zulu; You have breathed great excitement into the telling. We await the full report with baited breath, whatever that is.
Sorry, that took rather longer than I planned. A fairly lengthy review is now on the blog.
