Hello,
I'm new here I was wondering does anybody make Turkish or Asian style quivers to sell? I dont have the leather working skills to make one for myself. I hope this is the right place to post this, if it isnt I appologize.
Thanks in advance
A quiver can be had. Leave me a message. Right now I am a storm refugee checking my messages from out of town. Well out of town. -j-

Gosh, Jack, yes. I hadn't though how near you are to the storm. Our thoughts are with you and your family (and your bows... :) )

Since we're on the topic of quivers ...
I was wondering if anyone has either drawn or considered drawing some patterns of Turkish and Persian quivers and bow cases along the lines of what Cherrie Anne Button has drawn (three of her pages can be found in the Islamic section of ATARN).
The more I read Jack's and Bede's posts, the more I realize the crudeness of my own quivers. Mine look fine, but I have no doubt they blend features from different times and places. I'm especially interested in the differences that indicate 16th century vs 17th century and Turkish vs. Persian vs. Polish vs. Tatar.
I bet a book of such drawings would sell well to horse archers and reenactors.

P.S. Jack, glad to hear you're safe.

Hmm ... I make qiuvers based on examples from Polish museums and it is a part of my new job :). My new website with pictures will be soon but I have some prepared patterns, please contact me by e-mail.

Stephen has uploaded patterns of the Polish quiver (probably made by Armenian artisans in Lwow - today Ukraine). One of common Turkish and Polish designs. Patterns are based on the 17th century quiver from Czartoryski Museum in Krakow. http://www.atarn.org/islamic/patterns/k ... attern.jpg - file is quite big 740 kB
I've added some details to my old pattern - any suggestion for future?
I know your work and luxury goods! One question please. Is it you at gallery of your shop?
I would like to get my photo into my profil on Atarn, but IT doesnť work... :(

As i know Nomadic arts archery is one of most professional shops for making quiver replicas of all kind, from Turkish, Persian, Mongol to Qing and Tibetan etc.... Also arrows are excellent.
I need one closed quiver.
Best regards,
mongolianarcher
I'm glad you've mentioned nomadicartsarchery!!
It seems very good. How do you guys customize your bamboo arrows as to specifications for draw weights, lengths etc?
Zack
I'm using shafts from Steven Tiger and they come spined for what I order.Length is up to 36". My shop is 6' x9' and I have no space to make arrows from skratch.
Arrows are not my main product, but helps to pay for rent.

Okay very good. It's funny, I was one of the first people on this site to mention Tiger's website, which was to Jack Farrel asking if it was a legit source to use.

I can and will vouch for Zack's Leather work it is really worth every penny so are his arrows.the man is modest,if you see one of his quivers in your hand you will see the work he puts into them.
mongolianarcher
Really? If I may, what products did you buy?
Zack
Actually, PJ pick up prototype of Turkish quiver that I was developing for Lukas. I gave him deal since I was not happy with my stitching.
He lifted my spirits just by having fellow archer to talk with.
Thanks PJ
In Toronto it is rare comoditie
mongolianarcher
Wait Lukas who?
Zack

I picked up some arrow shafts,a quiver a belt(that he gave me)I am poor right now,lol otherwise i would have picked up at least 3 quivers i have my eyes on,I think i will just have him make me some turkish and a custon mughal quiver,as far as arrows go I should have just had him make the arrows,I got impatient and messed them up,Zack has the patience i lack,I recieved a kaya bow and just wanted to shoot.Haste makes waste.

Oh wow I was wondering where I should find a Crimean Tatar side quiver to match my bow for horsearchery.
Zack
I do bowcases on occasion.
Since bows are different,I prefere to make them to fit to each bow.
What make is bow?
Zack
mongolianarcher
A Saluki bow Crimean Tatar Hybrid, 54inches long
Zack
Oh, super. I'm getting one of those shortly,it is much easier with bow on hand.
I'll let you know.
Zack

OK pm me whenever
Zack
Is there preferance in color .
Zack
Even better , send me picture of your arrow quiver.
Zack
Perhaps something like this?
Zack
Some missalighment :-)
mongolianarcher
Wait, I don't have an arrow quiver lol I'm interested in buying a quiver and a bowcase. That design is amazing, yet I would prefer a less flashy color instead of the red. My bow is light biege on the outside and is black on the near side of the bow.
Zack
Cellphone camera does not do it justice. If I did it in saten coating will be les shiny.
What I like about it is sleek shape. Like Ferrari:-)

Do you have any other examples of Crimean designs you make?
