Should or Can I even get a Korean Bow from this guy...????

These might be the best modern versions on a Korean Horn bow. I have had two different versions. Both are hands down rocket launchers. I bought them in Korea, though, and do not know about ordering here.

Start with a synthetic bow. If you lack experience with a horn bow, it is easy to crash it. It can be complicated to maintain.

I was turned down when trying to buy real bamboo arrows from another source because I did not then know what I wanted. (Japanese may also decline to sell items which you are not "qualified" to use correctly)

There might also be a slight language barrier. Keep trying. First rate, honorable business man.

Thanks. Do you by any chance know which version of these bows is the fastest? I was thinking about bamboo version but I'd imagine the horn + carbon composite was probably the fastest/faster.

The bottom of the line modern composite is only just a few fps slower than the semi-horn version. Start there.

After a year or two learning the ropes, you will probably be able to sell it to a friend for what it cost. Everyone who sees these bows falls in love with them.

As Jack said just be persistent. I am happy to announce that SMG's sales rep., Mr. Mechwar, came through big time. Not only did he get me the 200 USD carbon bow that I asked for, but also a traditionally made Korean horn composite.

It will take a while of going back and forth but in the end you'll get some great archery tack.

My SMG carbon spits arrows out at demonic speed. Its definitely not as supple as a horn bow but if you want to start somewhere w/ Korean archery at a price less expensive that is traditional in terms of shape/overall concept then go with the SMG carbon. Also, do yourself a favor and get some of the SMG carbon arrows. Nothing like the matched sets that Korean archery provides. All very reasonable in terms of price and performance is great.

As for the traditional Korean horn bow, this will be my second horn bow (hence why I know horn bows are typically supple/smooth drawers), but I haven't strung it yet because I haven't built the bracing board yet though do have a heat box ready to go. Will report more once I do.
