Canvas removal
Perhaps a silly question: how best to remove the temporary canvas from the horn as recommended by Adam? Does it scrape off pretty easily, or should I dampen it with a brush or something?

The canvas can usually be peeled off in one piece, but sometimes a rasp is needed. In a more humid climate the belly protection may not be necessary.

I ended up dampening the canvas with a wet brush, and it peeled off fairly easily. Oddly, it brought up a tear from the horn on one side! It took very little force to peel back, so the horn coming up surprised me. I lost about 1/2 mm. I suppose that was a flaw in the horn, and I should be grateful it came up now and not during tillering?!
