I have an 18th Century quiver from Japan that has a frame made of bamboo; but that was used with a composite bamboo bow, not a hornbow. There were some small horn or whalebone bows used in Japan in previous centuries that had quivers with bamboo frames.
North Asian hornbows usually went with quivers made on a wooden frame covered with leather, silk or other decorative material.

Okay I?ll try to put it in another way.
Does bamboo/rattan quiver goes well with hornbow /arrow sets ?
Or out of place.? Both aethetically/ culturally? but perhaps it more for hunting functions ? is it?
Forgive my ignorance.
thanks stephen for your first answer.

I think about out of place culturally. But if the product is durable, useful and attractive, many archers will not mind.
Why not make up a sample and ask people what they think?

yes stephen i will sure make a sample.
hornbow ? sure ! i will incorporate some horn materials as accent so as to go with the theme, even tanned waterbuffalo leather if you like as lacing so as to keep the theme in place.
do you think such idea is nice? one of a kind,?

Pete,
quite some time ago I asked the curator of the ethnology museum of Zurich, Switzerland to take some private pictures from the current exhibiton "Bamboo in Asia". Many bamboo articles of the daily live got exposed and of course also Yumis, Ya, quivers etc. from Japan.
Attached have a look of an interesting Japanese quiver, which was also used in Horseback archery. It was made while the Bamboo was still "green" - not dried yet.
If anyone is interested in more pictures because of repicla, feel free to contact me.

Reto- that quiver certainly is unique
but thats not the kind of bamboo quiver I have in mind, for possible commercial purpose. in quantity perhaps down the road.
I thinkt that?s more culture in nature.
nevertheless, We can also make that too since we have lot s of bamboo here and expertise in weaving and bamboocraft as wel.l I think this is more of trying to replicate ancients cultural. quiver.
