Making Turkish Bow & Arrow Quivers

Dear Atarn Community,

I am planning to make Turkish style bow and arrow quivers just like these:

I have a Grozer #46 bio-composite bow and a dozen of corresponding Turkish arrows.

I have searched the forum for a template for making quivers but the only thing I found is the following:

http://www.atarn.org/islamic/patterns/p ... quiver.pdf

And please correct me if I'm wrong but the pattern 'C' is a Turkish style arrow quiver that I'm looking for. However I could not find a template for the bow quiver.

Should I be just looking at pictures and try to make a quiver without using any geometric template? Or can you help me find a template?

One more question: How much my bow and arrows should fit inside the quivers? What ratios should I need to know about my bow and arrows to make quivers for them?

Thank you to all.
Cheers.

I have made an arrow-quiver in a shape i took of exactly this original. I just used that photo and took the outlines of it (but moved segments and resized it to a shape I wanted). If you want to copy it, you need to get at least one measurement.
I used an other construction, than this silk one, a wooden frame, with leather sides, so the cross sections were not interesting for me at all, but Bede posted cross sections of Turkish leather quivers, I would use these, thinking they would work with a silk quiver, as they do with a leather one. My own attempt was not to make a replica, so the skilled members, may have better ideas, but this is mine.

Bow cases are the easiest to make. They are essentially flat and you can copy them directly from photographs. You need to scale them to your own bow, but I have found that using the dimensions of old ones from museums usually produces a functional item. It is best to line a leather bow case with cloth.

Thank you for your suggestions. Do you think half of my bow should fit into the bow quiver?

It is usual to be able to fit the bow in up to the mid-point of the handle. Some cases covered up to the top of the handle.
