Painting ottoman turckish bow
Fascinated on the painting of turckish bows. Anyone knows which kind of cover is best for painting on (brich bark or leather)? And what kind of colour the bower usually use(lacquer or greasepaint)? I have tried shellac but it made the surface of the birch bark brittle. Checked many website did not find any useable descriptions. Someone knows please give me an help! Thanks! :)
Adam Karpowicz's book has a whole section on the decoration of Ottoman Turkish bows.
