very fine and beautiful work. I believe it will shoot well. I like the concave parts of the kasan. you have thinning in the area kasan eye? guess is minimal or absent. how many grams is in this type of bow (unfinished)? how lb. draw weight you expect? as look at i depressed from your work and style :?

Hello Cem,
Excellent work! The cross-section of the limps appear to be very similar to the ones of the old bows I saw so far (concave horn and flat sinew). There is also the sudden rise of the kasan ridge, which I observed.
Questions:
Has the bow a concave glue line or is the horn shaped concave?
The transition between concave and flat at the side of the bow: is that partly molded during sinewing?
Same question for the sudden rise of the kasan ridge: is that molded during sinewing and some grinding of dry sinew.
Your bows, in particular the last one you presented, appeared to have a pronounced width taper. If correct ? what are the measurements? Do you think a relative wide bending section leads to more stability and higher power?
Best wishes and thanks,
Lukas

Impressive work. I see how much I must learn yet. Thanx for sharing.
If this 3 piece or 5 piece?
Can you tell the thickness of horn and sinew?
What woods, sinew and horn were used?
Grooving methods?
Glue?

Very beautiful. It's almost like a pretzel.
Utterly impressed by that sinew layer!!

Pazuzu,
I thinned the kasan eye ,it is similar old puta bows, I remember unfinished bow is 210 gr, now it is 400 gr.
Lukas,
Glue line is concave, it is matching grooving lines. I shaped the horn concave.
The sides and kasan eye molded during snewing. Sometimes I sand the snew end of the 2. layer very lightly for correction- checking balance. I never sand the snew end of the last layer. Which measurement do you want?
I believe wide core is not enough for stability. İf the balance of materials is not good bow tendency to twist.
Jkekoni,
İn 0-30cm wood 6,5mm, horn is 7mm .İt is 3 piece core, snew is 2,5mm at center- 6.5mm at sides. I used acer campestre, it is waited in form 1,5 year. I used 94 gr moose snew, horn is W.Bufallo from Philippine.
Groowing is concave matching between wood and horn. İt should be perfect.
Glue is snew, hide and isinglass( from Pazuzu- many thanks)
Thanks friends for your kind words.

Thanks friends.
Pat,
Yes, glue cracking because of great bending.
Peter,
Yes, it will be strong. not for human ;^)
I cut my hand- snew badly as I was making a bow. I hope it work well again.
I miss to see your bow.
