Scythian Style Bow...

I know it's not made with traditional materials, but I'm still proud and happy how this bow turned out. I used the 'long limb' profile from Stephen's discussion of the Yanghai Scythian grave find, for both limbs, making the bow just slightly asymmetrical. Overall length is 49" ntn. .030" fiberglass on both sides of a .14" Red Elm core. Draws 32#s -- perfect for me for "all day" shooting.

The proportions are exquisite and so is the coloring. Good job fellow Floridian.

Thanx guys! One of these decades I'll try horn and sinew; but not just yet. Took me three tries (learning fiberglass-wood composite skills) and a couple hundred bucks to get this one right! Not at all like building self bows!

Next one I want to try is the Warring States era flatbow that Stephen wrote about a number of years ago, and Justin Ma asked about 3-4 years back.
