most efficient design
Does anyone have an idea on which horn bow design is the most efficient at high draw weights? (either regional type such as Korean or Turkish, or specific characteristics such as long siyahs)
Would all these characteristics help improve efficiency?
-high reflex when unstrung
-string bridge
-light core wood
-set-back or reflexed handle area
-limbs thin side to side but thick in cross section
-reflexed tips

according to the theoretical mathematical modeling of Bob Kooi:
-high reflex when unstrung - yes
-string bridge - no, non-contact siyah
-light core wood - as long as it is not too soft
-set-back or reflexed handle area - yes
-limbs thin side to side but thick in cross section - yes, on the expense of stability
-reflexed tips - no, non-contact siyah

Reflexed tips - yes! They allow you effectively to bend thicker limbs hence storing more energy.
Reflexed handle - no because it forces the limb to bend further from the handle

PS:
I think everyone agrees that light-weight siyahs are one of the most important factors

Efficiency and energy storage are two different things. There is not a lot shaps who connect good energy storage ang good energy transfer - one of the best shape is turkish. In my opinion great potential have angular and crab shape. Long sijah contat for example manchu - very good storage poor transfer- need heavy arrows , hungarian - poor storage, very good transfer. Theoretic best effeciency could have Yuan shape I see perspective for good flight bow.
Thanks everyone for the advice! I will keep this in mind.
What exactly is a non-contact siyah?
Some bows have siyahs that aren't truly recurved away so the string only makes contact at the nock
