Spine correction methodes
Hi all, very long time since I posted something here.
Now, I think it would be nice to share what ways we all know for correcting the spine on our arrows.
I will make a list and you can see if there is anything I have forgotten or if anything is incorrect.
Adjustments to the bow/string.
1) Changing to a diffrent string.
Tell me, is it the weight of the string that makes it faster/slower? One must also be carefull not to use a string to fast so that the bow won't brake?
2) Start/stop using string silencers.
As I understand, this makes for a more silent string by reducing vibrations? Logically this must also slow down the string.
3) Adding/reducing weight to the limbs.
I have seen this on modern bow limbs. Can it be done on traditionall bows?
Adjustments to the arrow.
1) Choose the correct spined shaft.
Is there anything that can make it preferable to choose the incorrect spine? Diffrent release etc?
2) Cutting the shaft.
Making it stiffer the shorter we cut it. Am I correct when I say that this only affects the dynamic spine?
3) Adding/removing weight from the arrows tip end.
Making an arrow heavier in the tip, results in an arrow where the tip don't wan't to accelerate as much, making the arrow softer.
