Is Longhorn cattle horn an acceptable horn for making a Mongol or Turkish bow? I know water buffalo is the best but Locals use what is available and works.

Thanks.

Hi Daniel! Choose horn of young (3-5) years old bull . If it's possible not so twisted one. I Think you have a good chance to make a bow out of that.

Keep in mind the difference between Hungarian cold weather longhorn and Longhorn from a hotter climate.
Texas Longhorn is known for delamination between layers.

We have the same problem with older Hungarian grey cattle. I think he can give a try for a young one.
