Thats a really beautiful bow and the decoration is awesome, congratulations!

I also plan to make such a bow. How does it performs? Stacking?
Please give some data. Coverage under the painting?
Nice work!

Amarutu - Thank you.
Paku - It performs well. It is about 48# @28 and it will shoot a 350 grain arrow around 300yds. No handshock at all and it doesn't stack until about 29/30 inch draw. It shows very little set even when shot all day long. I really like it. Another advantage of this shape is that it's easy to string with a conventional stringer and there are no stability issues.

Good to hear about the good performance of the bow. Yes, the stringing is an important point! After spending 15 years on more and more reflex it would be good to try to make an easy stringable bow.
What about deflex and little reflex shape in this kind of bow.

Nice! I really like the decoration. Did you use some kind of oil for making the paint... tung or linseed oil?
mikekeswick
Paku - there is no need or deflex on this bow, it isn't really very strained. Even after being strung all day and lots of shooting it shows very little set when unstrung.
Pcoutin - I used a bit of linseed oil and then mixed that with copal varnish.

hi.. is this full horn construction? what is the total length? may I know the limb width & thickness?

I'm planing to replicate a Java bow that construct in similar manner (full horn construction) but with some-kind of siyah.. thanks

It is a composite. Buffalo horn/maple/deer leg sinew. Length is about 58 inch. Width 33mm and thickness about 11mm
