Fastflight....to try or not?
I have just read Adams new version of his book and was especially interested on the use of fastflight on the lower poundage bows.
Now i'm very tempted to try out a fastflight string but am a bit scared! I've got a few successful bows made now but i'm still a bit attached to them and don't know if I dare to do it!
I have been playing around making split cane flight arrows recently and would love to see how my bows would do with fastflight.
Does anybody have any experience of using fastflight strings on composites? If so what sort of bows and what draw weight. Also how exact have you made your strings?

Well I've had a fastflight string on this bow for a few months now and no problems.
My bow has a string stiffer than dacron but it's a 60# non-contact ear
I'd probably stick to thick dacron endless strings for heavier short Turkish bows???

The bow is 65# and has been shot many times now with a fastflight string. No problems.
I'd be tempted to use the (I think) Turkish technique, where the loops can be separate (Thicker Dacron) and they are tied to the actual string with a special easily adjustable knot. That way there would be no chance of damage to the nocks, but the string itself would be FastFlight.
Adam Karpowicz wrote in his book that the fastflight cut through the dacron when he did that..KenH wrote:

My string is endless loop 10 strand with 6 extra strands in the loop to make it 16 there with 0.21 thick serving. This bow is fast, has plenty of reflex and I've shot it with very light arrows of about 3gpp.
woah man.
Very nice work :o
what specific material? Wonder if I should stick to D-97
