Mongolian
Nock
Ready for sinew.
This bow is 140 cm ntn. Width is 38 mm. Thickness is 7.5 mm.
I took the Caagan Chad bow´s dimensions roughly as template. The Siyahs are 30 cm.
The width is limited by the horn available. Aiming at about 50" I chose that thickness.

Nice bow! but I think with that 'shoulder', the siyah somehow resemblance slightly turkish rather than mongolian..
can you tell what core did you use? thanks
btw, its more convenient if the picture width is 1024 in pixel.. imo :)

A. Haydar,
I know this with the picture size. Mistake. But if you click on it, it will be opened in another window.
The core is ash wood, the siyahs are maple laminated with horn beam.
For the shoulder I tried to get the shape depicted in the painting which is the Atarn Facebook cover photo. I used a thick wire to bent it into this shape and that is how it turned out.

I see what you mean.
You are right, the Cagaan Chad does not have this. I decided for this too have more clearance for the string loop. Anyway it´s just 2 mm to each side. The string bridge is still missing anyway. I actually could change the shape after having put the string on first try when I see how it works out.

One horn bow project at the time is enough.
