Just wanted to share a pic of my thumbring after repair. The base is some fancy plastic with some aluminium glued on top.

Hi John,
it's hard for me to answer this question because I didn't make the ring in a special ethnic style, but similar shapes can be found in some Turkish, Persian, Turkic, Turco-Mongol and even Mughal thumbrings from the Grayson Collection. The ring is made to work well with my hand and a 63-lock - which is obviously middle eastern - and then came out in this shape. A lot of inspiration from the old ones was (of course) part of the process, too.
