My first try of the magyar bow.
Hi guys,
nice to see, that there is some living here!
I made this bow already one year ago. It is made like Fabian Gyula's reconstruction of the magyar bow.
It has five piece core(maple), water buffalo horn and has sinew from back tendon.
It has a length of 122 cm nn, has a midlimb width of 37 mm and 10,7 mm.
I covered it with birchbark. It has now something like 58 lb at 27 '.

Nice job! I am currently making my first hornbow in the style of an Ottoman bow. Core is made, horn and core primed with glue. Next step glue those two together.
Smooth looking shooter. Are those horn plates in the ears? Were the originals antler or such?
Yes, these are thin horn plates and yes, they should be antler.
Just did not have that to put on...

Well, its almost the same! Next time then, even though i understand its not easy to find antler in some countries when there aren't much hunters around.
