On pge #33 of Heath's The Grey Goose Wing is a plate dated c520BC showing a Scythian archer holding a short bow.
Do you think this is a true representation of a Scythian bow or just the artist rendition of something he had seen elsewhere or an artistic rendition of what he percieved was correct?

hi JonR, could you post this picture?

The "Grey goose wing" has been mentioned several times here in ATARNeT. Where can I get this book?
Mostly the basic design of the bows to be seen on such plates is shown allright.

Thanks for the info.
I would post the pic but don't have a copier and not sure about copyright issues.

A copy from the Legends of the longbow series would be the most inexpensive. But an original copy iswaaaaaay nicer.
