Thank you for all your advice on bowmaking. Perhaps for my purposes, I should just make a regular recurve bow that is made to look like a mongolian bow. A traditional composite bow can come later. Just out of curiosity, would anyone on this forum have actually reccomended a composite bow as a first time project? Again, thanks for the advice. :D

hi, I would nobody recommend to make a composite hornbow as his first-time-bowery-project.

If you have never done a bow by yourself start with a selfbow with 165cm in length and 4-5cm in width with 45lbs at 28" or whatever your preferred drawweight and drawlength maybe, if it works you could steam-bend recurves to it and sinewback it. So you will make the first experiences you need for a later hornbow-making.
