Aiming on horseback (excellent ground aiming below)
Folks,
We are finally getting fast (not too fast) but steady horse for archery in Hong Kong. We are also shooting longer range (>12m) too.
Since I am using a light korean bow (35'). When I did a side shot, even I aimed much the "down way", my arrow still travelled "ahead" of the target. It means the back shot would be very slow etc etc.
Any suggestion about aiming on fast moving horse and shooting long distance?

sorry for other members, my english not good,i use chinese reply then who can help me post english, for the accuracy of language

Fox, 35# might be a little light. But with light arrows (as you use) there should be no big problem.
I would suggest two things. First, you might just not have got used to it yet. You have built up your skills at shorter range and your brain still needs to adjust to the speed/distance.
The second thing is to check that you are really pulling back to full draw. With the excitement of a faster horse and more distant target, perhaps you are snap shooting. I started committing exactly that mistake on Monday, shooting for the first time after a longish break.

What Jiao saying is basically tone the inclination of now according to the distant bewteen archer and target. Then calculate the horse speed. Adding up the vector some of these then how I know how high and how off sided we need to aim.
thank you fox wang, i will try to do my first horseback archer after a few days,it is a dangerous sport?
