Is there a definitive method of aiming and shooting?
Hey fellas,
Is there a definitive way of aiming and shooting? I have observed two different approach in my archery club. Most people would do this:
Draw the bow, aim and let fly the arrow. Basically, there is a pause for aiming AFTER they achieved full draw/anchor, holding the fully drawn bow for while.
A few I've observed seems to have a spontanous draw and release method. They seemed to aim first, then draw and release simultaneously, without pausing to aim. The action is very fluid. I believe it's called "snap shooting."
What is your opinion to these two different approach?
cheers

The bow should work more effectively the quicker it is drawn and released, however this is harder to achieve the smaller the target is. I tend to fix my eyes on the target (I leave both eyes open) and concentrate on that, aiming so to speak, as I draw. I pause at full draw for around a second or so before release.
