subeixi- bow
The French- German ARTE- channel displayed one week ago a telecast about some mummies found in the Takla- Makan desert.
The archaeologists have found there a bow with looks like the subeixi- bow Stephen and Bede have described.
Has the subeixi- bow been excavated in this grave in the Takla- Makan?

Did they mention the grave number? We can identify it that way.
The Subeixi/Subeshi/Subashi that the bows came from is located in the Flaming Mountains north of the Turfan Basin in Xinjiang, rather than the Taklamakan desert in the Tarim Basin. The site has produced at least four bows.
A source for confusion is the ancient city of Subashi, which is in the Taklamakan. I don't know of any mummies from this site.
One of the Turfan Subeshi female mummies is very identifiable as it is wearing a very tall, almost-conical hat like that of the witches of European folklore. So a bow shown on the programme with this group of mummies is probably one on the Subeshi bows.
Do you have any further information?

Thanks, I missed that telecast, I got the info from Erhard Godehardt, so I had to ask him about any further info.
