Magyar Bow Wood
I've searched all the local lumber shops to no avail . Does anyone know were I could get good maple lumber for bow making?

Your not going to find it at your local lumber store unless their cutting it. I cut it myself when I need it, But their is another way to get. Where are you at in the USA? That would help to determine how I can help you.

I'm in Michigan for the time being, but I'm moving to southern Ohio soon.

I am in central/west Ohio (Logan County), Which locally here good maple is not hard to get. But I also know that you have quite o fes Amish up their although i am not sure where your located. But the Amish I use here have family in michigan that run band saw mills. They send pine logs down some times. But I usually have them cut large sections for me then I cut it down with my chain mill, Afterwards. But i am sure their is someway we can come together to get you some maple, If the Amish can't help you. I assume you are looking for Red Maple or Suger maple. Be careful if you go and see the Amish The are not very good judge of tree types and you might end up with Silver Maple.
But if you want me to get you some and send it to youI can, your not to far away. I have sent pieces of Osage to people before. I have a forced air solor kiln so I can dry it first.

Thanks!
I might just have to take you up on that offer to send the wood. I'm in the middle of moving to Hamilton County right now, so I don't really have a set address or time to work on my bow (at least not for a few weeks  ).
