My Kassai Hun is 45# and the Field archery courses I shoot are mostly two day events, one with unmarked distances and one marked. We would normally begin shooting at 10:30 in the morning and finish around 4 in the afternoon.
Hi Jiao,
I've been shooting for 30+ years but only using the thumbring for 2 years. But issues of draw weight are the same for both styles of shooting. This is what I've found:
-As you get near your maximum draw weight, only 3-5 pounds can make a big difference as far as how long you can shoot for comfortably.
-AND how much your FORM becomes affected. BE CAREFUL! Too much draw weight can create BAD FORM and TARGET PANIC.
-If you want to keep shooting the 55# bow, then try shooting at close range with your eyes closed, making sure that your FORM is perfect for every shot. Shoot as many arrows as you feel comfortable shooting (maybe 50-100), then take 1 or 2 days off shooting and repeat. Do not shoot at normal ranges. Do this close range shooting for about a week or 2, making sure to give yourself a day or 2 in between shooting sessions to heal and get STRONGER. As you get stronger, you may feel better after shooting.
Good luck and make sure your SHOOTING FORM isn't suffering with that heavier 55# bow!!!
