Chinese bow?
Hello,
Wandering in web I've finded this bow:
http://www.fujimae.co.nz/mainsite/Produ ... 40129.html
It seems that it is made of bamboo and it is a chinese bow. The weight is around 16-17 kg (35# or so).
What's your advice on this bow?
TIA, best regards
Gianrico

I have seen this iem on one or two Japanese-style martial arts sites. I wonder if it was made by Jaap Koppedreyer.
There is nothing particularly Chinese looking about it.

I had seen some chinese bow on ATARN and in Internet, and this bow is not very similar (I think it is made of rattan, not bamboo, but I can't verifiy :? ).
Does anyone know a non-expensive bow (ehm, not too :-) for beginning oriental techniques? I like short bows, lbs is not very important for the purpose I have in mind.
Best regards

We can do Chinese bows in fiberglass at 35# for about US$300 plus P&P.
Hello Stephen,
You're very kind. Have you got some pics of a such bow? Are they just backed with fiberglass or entirely made of? It's just that I am a kind of "traditionalist" or so, and I try to limit as more as possible the use of modern material... Is it impossible to find something which made the job in bamboo or similar priced about 500$? This would be an interesting bow for my wife, she is ialso interested in archery and in a near future we will train togheter  ...
Thank you, best regards
