Can anyone tell me how... Laminated Bows?
Does laminated bows ( like korean or turkish bow ) need to be long for laminates? And can anyone advice me about adhesives I can buy locally for laminating bamboo staves?
Depending on the materials, a laminate bow does not have to be long. The different laminations have to resist extension (back), accept compression (belly) and accept shearing (middle).
Glues vary a lot; but if you are using natural vegetable or animal materials, the glue must be water-soluble. It is important to know that the glue serves not just at the surfaces of the glued materials but also by soaking into the structure of the materials. The glue also needs to be thin enough so that when parts are clamped together there will be no bubbles left.
