Selling a Cut-Up Korean Horn Bow (SOLD: PLEASE DELETE)
I've taken enough photos and enough measurements for my own personal use. I don't really see myself needing any of this again eve, so I'd like to offer it up to anybody else who wants to try to make a Korean hornbow, and needs a model to work from.
There are 26 pieces cut from exactly half of the bow. They are divided into roughly 1 inch segments and are numbered to easily put in order.
There is a complete siyah without any sinew. There is a little bit of horn still on the belly, I think it got glued with some synthetic glue because it didn't come out in soaking. It is a good model for a steam-bending form.
The lower half of the foam handle is present and cut in half to show construction.
There is a small cross section a few millimeters thick of the center of the bow, and that is cut in half vertically as well.
Half of the wooden handle is present, and it is cut in half vertically to take measurements of the taper and curve if needed.
There are a handful of random horn and sinew/bamboo pieces that were present when I got the bow. It was already broken when I obtained it.
Pictures are on 12" tiles for reference. This could ship in a pretty small box, and it is very lightweight.
Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested in these bow pieces. I could sell it outright for cash, or make a trade for soemthing like sinew or bamboo. Just let me know what works for you.
Thanks,
Thomas
