Mameluk Arrows
What do mameluk arrows look like? Are they similar to turkish? And also, why do turkish arrows look like a upside down Y when shot off the thumb, but crimean tatar arrows dont, they look like normal radical arrows.
Please help me out.

Luke,
I have examined both types of arrows and they are fletched in the same layout (Y). With large feathers, the cock feather is used upper most. When shooting with a siper, the cock feather must be down or the side feathers will be torn off.
Mamluk arrows as described in Saracen Archery are similar to larger more robust Turkish arrows. They are not so long as Persian (Qajar) or Crimean Tatar arrows.
