My first two horn/sinew bows
Hello Im lukasz from Poland , Im new here. Here my first two horn/sinew bows. Both with hickory core , elm recurve and handle. Shape of this bows , recurve etc are my idea , but second is a little modelled on assyrian angular , first maybe crim - tatar in shape , not in siyah
Welcom to hornbow mad people , Lukasz.(Good start vith name- like Luka? Novotn? :) )Your work looks like you are friend vith material and tools. But... why ? Ok , i understand this like training work for future good one.Good luck for future !
why ..For fun , experience and observation , like you said. First five bows will be for me material to learn , and good replicas in future 8)
Well, maybe i only envy todays novaces all info about bows. my first 2 bows 8 years ago was much , much more worse and ushutable... And till today i havent courage show my work- if i personaly dont shoot vith him serious distance.
Hey ! dont be so shy , be brave like Janosik !
Thats no problem Lukasz. I have in war against lightwaight hornbows  . Expect somthing like Korean modern hornbow (vith his super balanced disain and weight ). We are in re - borned period . I mean - most of us only try made same quality bows like old Turks or Mongols(Mughals). This bows ,are for most archery population somthing like unbelievle ghost vith his great distance records ! If we made same quality bows, and shoot same distances, than we can play the game in variations and experiments vith this fantastic bows . To this day ( mi opinion) is not time show lightvaight and from mi point of vieu nonsene bows...
I understand - you was happy that your bows shooting and dont break . But this is not real good hornbow- if you umderstand me.
(Trzimaj sie , i niech ti sie zdarza !)

Mi last "generation" (8 bows) are now in sinewing proces. One i open about half year. Others must vait 1,5 - 2,5 year. If this bows dont satisfy me , nobody cant see him . This is mi way. Why showing dont satisfy product? Its enough in net...
hai, if you see and test the elasticity of the sinew layer or sinew strings on some old hornbows , i am sure you are never use your sinew layer back to the bow!
You make the ears by laminating layers of wood.
Perhaps by sawing a kerf in middle of limb and filling it veneer and glue?
Good looking bows. It it good that there are also people who innovate, rather than replicate.
Do you have any closeups or pictures before finnishing?
Can you give stats, length, recurve, ear length, poundage at draw etc ?
Someone might say that you have succesfully copied hornbow replica using genuine materials.
