tonkin cane or good bamboo in UK

I am having problems to find good quality bamboo, here in the UK it is always soft ,split and damaged, I would appreciate any help or contacts from someone, I would really lke to try some tonkin bamboo Thanks

Assuming you are looking to make arrows?
While you try to find a good supplier, have you considered buying a plant? Bamboo does not take long to establish itself. Pseudosasa Japonica is a somewhat 'common' species and as you probably know it is also called Japanese Arrow Bamboo.

Hi Ordha, I was actuall looking for bamboo for bows, but I've been considering making arrows aswell , thats a good idea I hadnt thought of, thanks ( I notice you are from wales too!!)

Thanks again Orda, thats good to know about Hilary Greenlands site, I didnt know she was there, it looks like she is making some nice bows too, a useful contact. and I have asked about bamboo!! Who is the admin. from Wales ? I thought I was on my own out here!!
